Your daughter is in her key bone-building years, but it's just as important for you to keep your bones strong and healthy! You need lots of calcium, vitamin D, and physical activity throughout life to prevent osteoporosis.

Most girls say their parents play a big role in the health choices they make — so be a role model! Take steps to protect your own bones. Make healthy food choices and get active to set a good example for your family.

This section has tips for protecting your bones. You will also find information on osteoporosis and how to know if you are at risk.
