You have a sweet tooth!

Potato chips and French fries don’t interest you—you crave sweets like candy and chocolates. A sweet tooth symbolizes an optimistic personality—you see the bright side of things and always hope for the best in every situation. However, your feelings can be hurt very easily. While you don’t seek attention, your warm personality draws others to you. You are also more quiet and reflective and prefer curling up with a book rather than partying.

What does it mean when you crave sweets? You could be tired. Your body needs the energy it gets from food to keep you going through the day, and refined sugars (found in sweets) are absorbed faster than any other type of food. Sure, you get lots of energy (called a sugar rush), but it doesn’t last long. Healthier sources of food are best to keep your body going. The next time you’re craving a sweet treat, munch on an apple or mix up a smoothie of berries, milk, and yogurt. Yum!

You are a salt-lover

When it comes to snacks, you're more likely to grab a bag of chips over a bag of cookies. You are traditional and practical, and have sophisticated tastes—your friends look to you for the latest fashion trends! You also tend to crave your favorite restaurant meal and prefer to go out to eat rather than eat at home. You are a born leader, and your friends love your fun and carefree personality.

What does it mean when you crave salty foods? You may need to drink more milk! Studies have shown that women who don’t get enough calcium crave salty foods. (And that means you may not be building your best bones forever!) Eating salty foods increases calcium levels in the blood, which tricks the body into thinking it has enough calcium. Yikes! Put down those potato chips and satisfy your salty tooth with some string cheese instead. Wrap it in a tortilla and dip it in salsa or ranch dressing for a great snack.

You like to spice things up!

Candy? Pretzels? Who needs them when you can nibble on jalepeno poppers or anything drizzled with hot sauce. You have a hot temper to match your taste in food, but you are also a very loyal and good friend. Your mood swings are fast and furious, which can confuse some people until they get to know you better. You also like things neat and in order, and you hate change or anything that upsets your routine. No surprise parties for you!

What does it mean when you crave spicy foods? Some people really crave the rush they get from eating really spicy food—the spiked blood pressure and fast heart rate. The good news is that spicy foods are generally healthy. Adding hot sauce or chili powder instead of salt is a great way to "spice" up your food. Help your bones and satisfy your spicy tooth with a cheese quesadilla topped with hot sauce. Muy bueno!
